Slavery did more than rob enslaved Africans
of their names and language. Far more damaging, it robbed
them of critical cultural reference points necessary for their
psychological and social well-being. For African men in
particular, this damage has been traumatic and devastating.
Without a code of morality, ethics and honor, Black men
have struggled with fratricidal violence, devaluation of women, children and
elders and a host of other social ills with implications for the entire world, given
the global cultural influence wielded by Black men.
Shaasha Barta distills some of the most important missing
elements of Africa's moral dictum for manhood/warriorhood
into useable form.
All, whether Christian, Muslim or Buddhist will learn from its teachings.
It is a guidebook, enabling Black men to recapture central aspects of themselves
lost during the period of upheaval. Shaasha Barta, The Book of the 41
Virtues gives back the tools necesssary to foster personal
and group re-empowerment through way of life transformation.
